Are you trying to change the text colour and it does not respond when you use the editor? Or does the text on the frontend of the site looks different then the text on the backend of the site...or the text is red, and you keep changing it to blue?.
Typically the cause of this issue is that you have cut and pasted content from a third party source. This is a mistake, DO NOT DO THIS!
Whenever you are working with the content editor on a website and want to add new content from a 3rd party source, you must ensure the content you are adding is free from any formatting applied to it from the 3rd party.
When content has been cut and pasted from a third party source, some of the formatting from the original source comes along with the text. For a period of time the content may look proper on both the frontend and backend of the website. However, once the admin tries to manipulate the content (changing the size, font, spacing, etc) they will often find the content editor does not make the requested changes.
If you want to copy content from a 3rd party source follow these steps:
1. Open the page you want to edit in the admin section
2. Open the 3rd party web page where the text is
3. Open Microsoft Notepad (NOT WORD)
4. Copy the content from the 3rd party source
5. Paste the content into Microsoft Notepad (This eliminates the 3rd party formatting, and leaves only the text)
6. Copy the content from the Microsoft Notepad
7. Paste the content into the website editor
8. Now, you can use the website editor to change the colour etc.
9. Save the page
If you have a page of your website that has 3rd party content pasted directly into it, and the editor is not responding as expected follow these steps to remove the excess formatting.
1. Cut & paste the section of text you are having trouble with from the page editor on the admin section into Microsoft Notepad (NOT WORD).
2. Copy it in Microsoft Notepad and paste it back into the the page editor
3. You can now change the colour etc.
4. Save the page
